Kingdom of Menglana: Pelyn Vathran
Pelyn is the imposing royal seat of Menglana and burial ground for all but one of its Stahler kings. Its politics are fractious and often deadly to those who oppose the king’s weakening rule. The vathran sits on the southern end of Pelyn Island, a strategic position in the middle of the Leimenfjord. The vathran has never been successfully attacked, partially because of its natural defenses but mainly because the Stahler kings have protected it with a large warfleet.
Kingdom of Menglana: Froyaheim Thran
Froyaheim is the primary settlement in Storzarlund, a large, wealthy, and densely populated thranaal in eastern Menglana. Located near the confluence of the Froya and Leim rivers and surrounded by rich, fertile lands, the thran serves as a distribution center for furs and timber. Warriors from the neighboring Kingdom of Ibanvaal captured Froyaheim’s tributary thran of Froyby in 718. Ibanvaal now has a secure foothold west of the Kejelrian Mountains and is expected to attack Froyaheim itself within the next two years.
Kingdom of Menglana: Idjarheim
Idjarheim is the lodge of Idjar Redlaar, known throughout Ivinia as “Idjar One Eye.” Idjar is an Avalir, a semi-divine son of the deity Sarajin and Jehryna Redlaar, a mortal woman. The lodge is situated atop a broad artificial hill alongside the Borsi River in north central Menglana. The small settlement consists of a large clanhouse with a high stone tower, animal pens, and several outbuildings, most notably Kazhar’s Keep to the south. The number of persons in residence varies from around 20 to as many as 100 when residents of the region gather for festivals or trade. The permanent population includes Idjar, his wife and two daughters, and a dozen or so huscarls.
