Earth is No More!
Earth has been ravaged by nuclear and biological warfare known as Earthome War. Now a barren and poisonous wasteland; humanity is thought to be extinct there. Remnants of humanity are scattered on planets, moons, and space stations throughout the Solar System. Once the brightest achievements of progress, the High Colonies are the last hope for humanity.
But it’s a slender hope.
The Future, Seen Closely
High Colonies is a role-playing game, set just over two centuries in the future. Man has learned to exploit the planets and moons of the Solar System and reap benefits from advances in biological and engineering technologies. However, human population is now reduced to about twenty million, about the same as one large city on the former Earth.
Survival in the vast but hostile solar system favors the strong. Many colonies are dominated by hard, merciless dictators and extremists. Pirates stalk the trade routes between asteroids, planets, and stations. Some proud technological advances have turned into nightmares. Nor have the adverse conditions eased former human relations; old hatreds still fester, and new rivalries threaten everyone.
Realisitc Science Fiction?
In High Colonies, science and reality are placed toward the forefront. Here, lasers do not make sounds in space, there are consequences to all actions, and combat is threatening and pivotal. This calls for a system that is rugged and realistic to match.
Future Material To Equal the Size of Space!
The future for High Colonies is to keep producing high quality material on a consistent basis to replicate the vastness of material that would match High Colonies’ sister RPG, the fantasy medieval setting of HârnWorld that has over a million words in print. Working with an extensive team of writers and artists, Columbia Games has the experience necessary to keep support for High Colonies for years to come.
